Stavros Calos
Seen here with his mandolin, twenty-one year old Stavros will graduate from William and Mary with a degree in geology just before the trip begins. Stavros is waiting to hear if he receives a Fulbright Scholarship to study sustainable water management in Australia after our trip. He will be riding a Specialized Sirrus with some considerable modifications.
Trevor Piersol
Trevor will have just finished his sophomore year as a History major at the University of Virginia at trip's start. He is glad to be joining the fight against global warming and is excited about seeing America from the seat of his bike. He'll be on his second Specialized Allez as the first was stolen while in his brother's care.
Nathan Conway
Seen here enjoying the view, but upset by the pollution in the James river, Nathan is a biology major at Virginia Commonwealth University. He's excited to see more or this country's beautiful landscape on the trip. He'll be riding his newest bike, a Jamis Aurora.

Michelle Wagner
Seen gazing into the atmosphere, probably pondering the problems of greenhouse gases, Michelle is a sophomore at the University of Virginia. Still undeclared in her major she studies photography, Spanish, and women's studies. What she may lack in biking experience and equipment she makes up for with sheer enthusiasm. She has not yet chosen her mount, but it's sure to be a winner...
Michael Rhodes
An avid bike lover, mountain, road, and mechanic alike, Mike will have finished his senior year at North Carolina State University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He plans to move to Colorado after graduation to pursue graduate studies and have time to bike everyday. He enjoys adventures of all forms.
Calum McKinney
Looking to the west and the future, 20 year old Calum foresees a bright and shining tomorrow full of bright and shining bikes. In his Junior year as a duel Creative Writing and Film Studies major at Salisbury University, Calum does his best thinking while riding the exquisite mixture of parts that is his unique whip. With plans to document the trip in a feature story, McKinney awaits the expedition like a 14-year-old on his first date with a girl named Destiny.

Daniel Idziak
Daniel is an extra-terrestrial who has used his bicycle to travel across many solar systems. He will be making the much shorter trip across the country on his pannier-equipped Schwinn.
Claire Brisendine
At the start of the trip, Claire will have just finished her junior year at Salisbury University, where she is currently earning a BFA in painting and a BA in English/Film Studies. She is seen here enjoying nature on a past adventure, and looks forward to the many wonders that await her on this epic wheeled journey. Partnering with Calum McKinney, she will be filming the travels of the group for use in the next great award winning documentary.
